Enhancing Controls to Address the Military End Use/End User Rule Webinar

One year ago the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) expanded license requirements on exports, re-exports and transfers of items intended for military end use(rs) in China, Russia and Venezuela, and more recently this list expanded to Myanmar. Then, at the end of 2020, BIS published a Military End User (MEU) list, stating that the current list was “not exhaustive,” leaving the license requirements open-ended.

During this session, panelists Kit Conklin, Director of Global Client Engagement at Kharon and Suzanne Richer, Director of Global Trade Academy at e2open, will discuss the BIS MEU rule and regulatory expectations. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of how to:

  • Understand the definition of MEU as it stands today
  • Conduct due diligence to identify MEU risk from entities not on government lists
  • Address compliance and due diligence challenges associated with the expanded requirements
